Depression is a disease of the mind.

It’s possible to get a depressive diagnosis when you have the symptoms or signs of a depression disorder.
Depression DiagnosesA depressive episode is when your moods and behavior are so bad that you’re unable to function normally.
Your moods may change, your thoughts become very strange or difficult to process, or your body’s reaction to these thoughts or thoughts may become unpredictable.
If these symptoms are present, you can get a depression diagnosis.
Depression symptoms are symptoms of your condition.
If a person has a mental illness, like depression, and you experience the symptoms, you may be diagnosed as having a mental disorder.
You are treated as if you have a mental disease and will receive mental health services.
